Zachs Moving up to the Major League's

This year Zach tried out for the Major League Baseball Team and made it!!!
He was drafted by the Athol Legion team and is one of 4 new kids on the team so he has some work to do to move up in the ranks of the team this year.
Zach has been playing Right and Left Field so far and doing a pretty good job so far.
He has yet to have a hit but he is working hard and we know one will come soon.  We are enjoying seeing him on this team and watching him grow and get better every day.  We have a game one night during the week and every Saturday so it is very busy for us right now.  Its fun to see Zach loving to be active and improve and he really loves to play all kinds of sports.

Spring Soccer

This year we decided to sign Zach up for Spring Travel Soccer and he ended up with a young team with a few who have never played soccer before.
Needless to say they are not the best team but they try hard and that's all we can ask for.

Zach has a good time but they have had 3 games so far and they have not even made one goal yet.  It's also hard because Zach is playing baseball at the same time so we never have a free night and every Saturday we have both games to go to.  We love watching Zach play and he does seem to be improving since he is one of the oldest on the team.

Opening Day

We were lucky enough to go to the Red Sox Opening Day last week and it was a nice and sunny day to watch baseball.
We had pretty good seats sitting just a few rows behind the Sox Bullpen.
It was a good game and the Sox won which made it even better.  It was a great day and both Zach and Katie had a blast and even tried to get a ball from the catcher in the bullpen. We can't wait to go again this summer Go Sox!!!!

Easter Sunday

Easter morning the boys woke up very early so we sent them back to bed until the sun came up.

Once the sun was up we all came out to the living room where the kids looked through their baskets and saw all the cool things they got.

The Easter bunny hid 52 eggs around the great room. There was one egg that was the golden egg hid much harder than the rest and within a couple of minutes Aaron had found it.

Katie looks so beautiful in her dress with matching hat and purse.

John and I woke up pretty sick and Zach was not feeling well either so we decided to stay home from church and take it easy. We did get ready and go to Aunt Jan's for dinner so we got the boys dressed up nice and headed out. We had a good dinner with our family and they even hid some eggs outside for the kids to find.

We came home early enough that the kids could play outside for a while so they kicked the soccer ball around for a while the Katie and Aaron rode around on their bikes for a while.

Zach and John played basketball together until it got to cold to be outside. We had a great day together even though we were not feeling well it was a fun day spent together with each other, another great Easter we celebrated together.

Indoor Soccer

This time of year we spend lots of our evenings at the YMCA. Both Zach and Katie have practice during the week and a game on Saturday mornings so we are very busy most nights.

Katie has really improved from last year. She is much more aggressive and really fights for the ball. Like her brother she is really good at and loves to play defence.

Indoor soccer is really laid back for Zach and its a good time to build up his skills getting ready for Spring Soccer. Zach really loves soccer and its amazing to watch him grow each season he plays. They didn't have enough boys sign up so they are playing a coed league with the 5th and 6th grade girls so they are bigger than Zach but they are pretty even on the skill level. Zach's team is really good only losing one game so far.

This time Aaron was able to sign up for a skills class and they spend one night a week playing a different sport getting them ready for next year. Aaron really loves soccer and he had a great time that night. So far they have played basketball soccer bowling and lots of games of duck duck goose. Now he can't wait for fall soccer to start so he can play a real game. Its very busy around here and its just getting started...how do people have like 10 kids and have time to do anything other than drive there kids around all the time. Its a good thing we stopped at 3.

Hard to say Good By

Susan, Nick, and William moved a couple weeks ago and it was so hard to say Good by.

They spent the night with us so when the kids got up and were ready for school each of them asked to hold William one more time before they left.
They really love that baby and were very sad to see him go.

Aaron came home from school and didn't really understand that they had moved and he asked when they were coming back so he could hang out with William and sing him a song.
It was so wonderful to have them close for the last year. We wish them the best and miss them like crazy.

April...What Happened to March!!

Some how March came and went with me not posting anything that has happened so I am going to give a quick review of what happened in our family last month.

the month started with one last winter snow storm and Katie couldn't wait to go out and play in it.

John was excited that he was able to use his new snow blower.

Zach's 4th grade travel basketball team made it to the play offs and won the first round game giving them the chance to play in the fine game. Zach even made a basket in this game which made it that much better.

We are happy to report that Zachs team did win their final game!!! They played well and it was great to see them win after having a rough start to the season. Great Job Zach they even made it into the local paper!

Zach's school choir was given the chance to sing the National Anthem at our AA local hockey game. He did a great job and it was fun to see him sing in front of so many people.

The kids had a great time watching the game. Grandma and Grandpa Shattuck were able to come with us and share in the family fun as well.

After the game we went to dinner and continued the fun. The kids were pretty tired so they were getting silly by the end of the meal and we were ready to get home and get some rest.
The month flew by so I will try and keep up from now on.
