Last Day of School

Thursday was the kids last day of School!!!!  I took a picture of them as they were walking out the door.  This will be the last day that all 3 of my kids will be in the same school together kind of sad.
Its crazy to see how much they have grown over the year.
                                                       First Day of School

After school the kids came home and we hid in the cool AC house while we had lunch together and then they all headed out to run in the sprinkler.
It was so hot they ran right into the water and it was hard to get them to come inside for dinner.  It was a great way to finish the end of the school year and begin the Summer!!!

Aaron's Nursery Rhyme Play

The Day before the last day of school right after Zach's Step-Up, Aaron was in a play with the other Kindergarten classes.

All the kids sat behind while the child came out to act out the part they were playing

Aaron played the Butcher in the 3 men in a tub song.

After the play they were given a graduation diploma. Aaron has really improved this year. Aaron's teacher Mrs.Webb was a huge help, Aaron was not as ready as others to start school and she worked hard with him to get him ready to move up to first grade.

4th Grade Step-Up

Yesterday John and I went to the kids school for Zachs step up program.

Step Up is like 4th grade graduation.  Zach was given an award for being one of the top 4 in math in his class.  He is a great student and works hard to get good grades.
He was given a 4th grade diploma and they talked about 8 years from now he will be graduating from high school 2020!!
That was hard to think about our little boy only 8 years from graduating high school.
After the ceremony we all had lunch together in the hot heat of our first summer day.
After lunch the kids all went out to the field to launch rockets that they built.  This year has gone by fast and I can't believe my son will be in middle school next year.  Time goes by so fast.  Zach is very excited to move up to a new school next year he has had a busy year and we are all looking forward to a nice fun summer!

Little League Champs

Zach's team played in game 3 of their little league championship and it was a really well played hard fight to the end.
Zach played left field again and made another amazing catch to keep the bases empty.  In the 5th Zach was also put in as a pinch runner to try and get a run in, and in the end he was walked in so he wasn't able to use his awesome sliding skills.

Going into the 6th we were down 10-8. The team came together and were able to to get 5 runs in to make the other team out score them. It was a hard inning but we came out ahead and held them to their 10 runs and we won the game 13-10!!!!

We are so proud of Zach and we couldn't have asked for more from him. He played his best and was lucky to be drafted onto a really good team. Great Job Legion!!!

Silly me thinking we were done with sports for the summer, but we found out that there is a good chance that Zach will be drafted onto a summer league for 9 year olds. We are so happy for Zach and we will always stand behind him in his sporting goals.  So much for a lazy summer on the beach.

Championship is tied one to one

Saturday was Zach's first game and they played hard but ended up losing 11-8. Game 2 was on Monday evening and both teams had their best pitchers on the mound and both did very well. The first pitch of the game was a pop fly right to Zach in left field and he made the great catch to keep the bases empty. The game was still 0-0 going into the bottom of the 6th and final inning. Our team came out ahead and got a run in to win the game 1-0.  Tomorrow is the final game and will determine who will be the champ.
Good Luck Zach!!!!!!

Road to the Championship

Zach's baseball team has been doing really well this year and they went into the playoffs in 3rd place.

Zach has been doing really well and he finally got his first hit a couple weeks ago and it was so good too see his confidence grow after that.

Zach has a really good team and they all get along well, that makes it all the more fun to play.
Saturday they won the first round of the playoffs and then last night they beat the 2nd place team 10-2. Zach was walked his first time up and struck out swinging the second time. Zach played right field and with our pitcher doing so well he didn't get any action out his way.
The Championship's start Saturday, our team will play the 1st place team. Its a best of 3 and they will have to play hard to beat this team but whatever happens we are so proud of how well Zach has played and he is having fun and that is what matters most. Go Legion!!!!

Tag Team

Zach loves to help dad so when John went out to mow the lawn Zach couldn't wait to go out and help. As soon as they got out side it started to pour down rain.
After a short break the rain stopped so they headed back out to finish the job.
Its great to see Zach so willing to want to help.  With the two of them working together they got the lawn done in less than and hour.  Its so much fun to watch Zach grow up and now he is able to do more jobs with dad and they love working together. Now all we need is the rain to stop again.

Birthday Weekend ~ Monday

Monday we decided to spend the day at the ocean. We were going to head up to Main but the weather up North from us was cool and cloudy so we went South where it was  Sunny.
We ended up in Warwick, Rhode Island. It was a beautiful sunny day and we got there early so the beach was pretty empty. So the kids had lots of space to start building sand castles.
The water was warmer than around our house and with the sun out it was a nice day to swim in the ocean.
By early afternoon everyone was getting tired and hungry so we headed home and made a quick stop at the BK.  Aaron always comes out of there with a crown and he wore it all the way home.
When we got home everyone got cleaned up and I remembered that we never sang Happy Birthday to Zach, so we got his cake out and sang to him before we headed off to bed.  We had a very busy weekend and it was a great way to end Zach's Birthday.

Birthday Weekend ~ Saturday & Sunday

Saturday Zach had a baseball game and we bought him a big bag of sunflower seeds so he was able to open them before we left for the game.
Zach had a great game. He got up to bat twice, his first time he got a hit and was safe at first.  His second time he was walked.  Zach has been improving every week and he really loves to play and that's whats most important. They won the game 13-1. As of right now they are in 3rd with one more game to go till the play-offs.
After his game we came back to the house and open gifts.  He got lots of cool things and Aaron and Katie were more than willing to help.
He got his own ipod nano, pretty awesome!
He also got a new mountain bike from his Nana, Papa and Grandparents which he was really shocked about.  He has been riding a hand me down purple bike since we moved here so he was really excited to get his own new and blue bike.
Zach went out and tried his new bike out, its a little big for him but he will grow into it fast.  We all headed out to play baseball in the yard.  It was a beautiful sunny day so we headed to Johns parents and the kids swam in the lake.  It was a great day and Zach had a great party and we had a fun day together.
Sunday after church we headed back to Johns parents to spend the day at the lake.  The kids love to play in the water and while we were there they brought the dock out and Katie and Zach couldn't wait to swim out to it.  I left my camera home so I didn't get any pictures.  It has been a busy weekend and we have had lots of fun together.
