Slip-N-Slide Fun

Knowing we had lots of work to do in the house we wanted to find something fun for the kids to do outside.
I went and found this cool slide for the kids and they all took turns going down.
They all loved it and spent quite a bit of time playing out in the water.
They got going so fast that they were sliding right out of the pool at the end and making a muddy mess on the grass below.
After an afternoon of water fun they all sat down and warmed up a bit and then cooled back off with a popsicle. It was a great way to spend our first few day here at the house.

Painting Fools

Since we had a couple days with an empty house we decided to tackle our painting job and get the house looking like ours. I took the kids up Friday so I could tape the walls to be ready to start painting Saturday.
The first room we wanted to change was our dining/kitchen wall color, there was a deep burgundy and we wanted to lighten it up a bit.
We picked out a light red color but when we opened up the pain can it came out looking a lot like pink!!
John wanted to trust in the paint guys so I let it be and it did darken quite a bit after a second coat was dry but it still didn't turn out like I was wanting but we had other room to get done so we let is be for now.
Katie picked out a light purple color and it looks really good, she did a great job helping paint her room.
The boys room was blue but it was a bit of a baby color so we let the boys pick out a new color and they picked a deeper blue and it turned out really nice.
We all worked really hard and got the kitchen, dining room, Katie's room, the boys room, our room, and the bathroom all done in 2 days.  Painting is not very fun but we are sure glad that we got it all done and now we are ready for our stuff to arrive.

New Jersey Residents

August 1st we closed on our house and we are now residents of Vernon, New Jersey.
We have a few thing we want to get done before we move our things and since we closed a week early we have to wait 5 days till our belongings will be delivered.  Its great to be home owners again.  Can't wait to sit on our front porch and watch the sun set.

One More Trip to MA

We spent our first week just hanging out at the hotel swimming in the pool and just resting from all the hard work that had been done the weeks before.  John, his dad, and brother Sean play in a golf tournament so we came back for a second weekend so John could attend it again this year.

The kids decided they wanted to sleep in a tent that night and to my surprise they made it all night long.
The morning came as soon as the sun came up so that was a little early for mom and dad but they enjoyed and no one came out crying so I think it was a success for their first time.
While the guys played golf we went to Aunt Joyce's to swim and relax by the pool.
My goofy kids found all the life preservers and put them all on to see how they could swim with it all on.
They didn't make it far but it sure was funny to watch.
They always have a great time here so it was a good day spent poolside.
When the guys were done, (a little disappointed because they came in a close second only losing by one stroke) they came over to hang out with us and John even got in to play with the kids.  The boys made up a train game with John as the engine and it was fun to watch them.  We had a good day as always thanks to Aunt Joyce for always opening up her pool to us.
