Snow..No Snow.. Snow

We have had some really crazy weather the past few weeks and winter still has a ways to go.

We have had a pretty mild snow year so far this winter which I think is great, but the kids want more so they can make a better sledding track. We only had about 8 inches on the ground all winter so when you have a warm day with no snow the track melts and then you have to start over again.

The last couple of weeks have been pretty good for sledding and the kids love it. It is so nice to go out side your house and have a great hill to sled down and I can watch from the window.

On Sunday we had a warm rain storm and it rained for almost 24 hours. As you can see all of our snow melted and only a few patches around the yard were left. I love seeing the nice green grass again. Aaron had a great time playing outside and he was able to take cooper for a walk around the house again. But it was short lived and now we are covered again. Yesterday it snowed all day long then ended in a cold wind that blew the snow all over the place. And I had to shovel just to get the car out of the drive way.

I'm glad my kids love to play outside no matter what the weather is. I just can't wait until it gets warmer so I can stay out with them. Spring can't come fast enough for me.

Dance Party

Saturday is a lazy day for us and we love it!

John has to work and I don't enjoy taking all 3 of my kids out alone unless we have to so we just stay home and hang out together.

One of our favorite things to do at the end of the day is to turn on some music and have a dance party. We all dance around and clean up the toys we have taken out during the day and then once it's all clean the kids go crazy and dance around the living room.

Its a nice way to spend time as a family while waiting for dad to come home. Sometimes it can get a little crazy but we have a lot of fun doing it!

Now Katie Looks The Part

Now that things have settled back down from the Holidays and the kids are back in school Katie's swim team is going full steam ahead!

We were able to get her a team swimsuit and cap so she now looks like a part of the team! They are the Athol Amphibians hence the frog on her bum.

She is improving each time she is in a meet and the last 2 meets she has taken time off of her 50 free. She learns things so fast it's amazing. She has to work hard, but she can hold her own with the kids in her age group which are 8 and under.

We now have a swim meet every weekend until march when the season is over so we have been spending a lot of time sitting at the pool. The boys are now getting use to it and have found ways to keep themselves busy while Katie has practice.
She has make some good friends and she really has a lot of fun with them. She and a couple of the other girls got a special medal at the last meet for being the best cheerers on the team. I think we are in for the long haul now and we will keep supporting her as long as she enjoys doing it. Great Job Katie!!

Chritstmas Recap

This year Christmas came and went by so fast its hard to think that it is 2010 already!

Christmas this year was full of fun and lots of family! We all met at John's parents for dinner. John and I both had to work so our kids had a blast playing with their cousins that they don't get to see very often.

When John and I got there they were ready to open presents. Grandma and Grandpa S. had a gift for each of our kids so they got to open them. Katie got a Barbie Dream house! In her words "my dream came true this is all I ever wanted it was my wish!"

Aaron got a piano that is all decked out with all kinds of tricks and it has a microphone that you can sing along with the songs and you can record what you sing and then play it back. Zach got a bunch of teck deck things so they were all very happy and it wasn't even Christmas yet.

Christmas morning was a blast now that all 3 of our kids are old enough to know what Christmas really is and now they all love to open gifts on there own. In other words flying paper!

After we cleaned up and had some breakfast we headed out to visit John's Mem and Pep. My mom made all of my kids scarfs to match their coats and Aaron couldn't wait to put his on so he wore his out that morning.

We had a nice visit with the Normandin's and then finished our day at John's parents house. The kids got to open even more gifts. Aaron got a bunch of tools and couldn't wait to put them on his belt.

The day was very busy but it is so nice to do things as a family. We had a great day but it is hard to be away from my family. We got the best gift ever having my mom on the mend and Cancer free.
I hope you all had a very merry Christmas and a great new year!
